The purpose of this note is to analyze the work done by Haldar and Andersson [1]. Haldar and Andersson [1] have extended the work of Chaturani and Ponalagusamy [2] by taking into the account of axially variable plasma layer thickness. It is pertinent to pinpoint out here that in the case of two-layered model (Casson-Newtonian) for blood flow through a stenosed artery, the analytic expression for flow rate in the core (central) region is a function of axially variable plug core radius (p R) but it becomes dependent on the constant plug core radius (0 r) for the same flow in the artery with no stenosis (uniform artery). It is, in the present analysis, observed that the computation of the axially variable plasma layer thickness from the resultant equation is impossible as it depends on the two unknown parameters p R and 0 r. Hence, the method of computing the axially variable plasma layer thickness is invalid suggested by Haldar and Andersson [1]. Discussion and Conclusion Haldar and Andersson [1] have extended the work of Chaturani and Ponalagusamy [2] by taking into the account of axially variable plasma layer thickness. It is of importance to point out here that when we consider the flow of Casson's fluid (fluid having yield stress) through a

The purpose of this note is to analyze the work done by Ponalagusamy and Tamilselvi [1]. Ponalagusamy and Tamilselvi [1] have obtained the analytic expression for an axially variable slip velocity at the wall by assuming the flow rate for the case of one-layered model with slip velocity is equal to that of two-layered model with zero slip velocity. This assumption may, in general, not be valid. Keeping this in view, the flow rate for the case of one-layered model with slip velocity is generally considered to be equal to the product of a constant(1 C) and the flow rate of two-layered model without slip velocity, where 0 < 1 C. Slip velocity at the wall has been computed for different values of 1 C for tube diameters 40 m  and 66.6 m . It is observed from the present investigation that a series of experiments on blood flow is to be performed to determine the proper values of 1 C under various values of flow parameters and radius of the arterial stenosis.

A mathematical model has been developed for studying the flow of two immiscible fluids under the electrokinetic effects through a circular tube. The proposed model has been divided into two regions: The core region is non-Newtonian (Thixotropic) and the peripheral region is a Newtonian fluid. The non-linear nature of the modified Navier Stokes equation is governed under the electrokinetic effect and solved analytically by taking pressure gradient as constant. The numerical analysis on simultaneous effects of the power-law index, yield stress, structural parameter, consistency index and electro-osmotic on axial velocity and flow rate were discussed and the results were presented graphically. A comparison of axial velocity profiles for certain values of the parameters has been made to obtain the profiles for the power-law-Newtonian model and Newtonian-Newtonian fluid model.
