Mucuna laticifera Ingalhalikar, N.V. Page & Gaikwad (Fabaceae) is reported for the first time from the Patkai region of Arunachal Pradesh, extending its known distribution beyond its type locality in the Eastern Himalaya biodiversity hotspot. Specimens collected from Wakka village, Longding district, confirm the identity of the species and distinguish it from morphologically similar taxa such as M. macrocarpa and M. birdwoodiana. This record highlights the floristic richness and conservation importance of the botanically underexplored Patkai region, part of the Indo-Burma biodiversity hotspot. Detailed morphological comparisons confirm the identity of the species and clarify its distinction from similar taxa such as M. macrocarpa and M. birdwoodiana. This finding underscores the biogeographic and conservation importance of the Patkai region, which remains botanically underexplored despite its ecological significance.
