not-yet-known not-yet-known not-yet-known unknown One of the most notable measurements used to characterise antenna systems is Gain over Temperature (G/T), which can also help determine the receiving feasibility of antenna systems from celestial sources such as the sun. This method utilises a gain-to-noise temperature ratio, a known process that we can directly observe to have much valuable information on how the antenna can receive weak signals in background noise. This paper discovers the utilisation of Software Defined Radio (SDR) integration in satellite ground station systems for G/T measurement, revealing approximately +3% differences compared to systems without SDR, highlighting the advantages of software-based configuration flexibility in modern communication technology.
