Neoclassic theory of internationalization is argued as superannuated by some scholars. In this sense, seminal conceptualizations and theories which pillared the development of this research field, have collected wide criticism, which imposes an introspection about how enduring/germane are they in current times. Focusing upon one of those models (the Uppsala), this article it illustrates that neoclassicism is not synonym of old-fashioned, with the focal model evolving in its utility and t simultaneously evolving in its rationale (to a capabilisation model for internationalization).
