Papillary fibroelastoma is the rarest of the primary benign cardiac tumors, with the one located in the pulmonary valve being the rarest, even after the one that affects the ventricular endocardium. In the past, this type of tumor was generally a fortuitous finding in surgery or necropsy and with the great availability of transthoracic echocardiography, it is now more likely that they can be diagnosed.
