Depressie is een steeds groter maatschappelijk probleem aan het worden. Het is bewezen dat huisdieren een relatief goedkope, niet invasieve manier zijn om depressie in elk geval ten dele te behandelen. Therapie met dieren is echter niet voor iedereen en in elke situatie wenselijk. Daarom worden in dit onderzoek inzichten uit de Cognitieve- Neurobiologische Psychologie en de Kunstmatige intelligentie gebruikt om te onderzoeken wat de eigenschappen zijn van dieren die invloed hebben op depressie en hoe deze eigenschappen zijn te modelleren in een intelligent systeem voor de behandeling van depressie. Uit onderzoek naar de effectivitiet van dieren op de behandeling van depressie blijkt dat de relatie tussen mens en dier en de invloed op depressie zeer complex is. Daarom kan worden geconcludeerd dat een mogelijk intelligent systeem voor de behandeling van depressie de onderliggende processen zoals de vorming van een band tussen mens en dier en de interne ritmes en motivaties van dieren zou moeten modelleren. Daarbij is het wenselijk om het systeem een fysieke vorm te geven die eventueel gebaseerd is op dierlijke eigenschappen, maar niet probeert een specifiek dier na te bootsen.

ABSTRACT This article proposes a typology of four types of individuals who are impeded to engage in sustainable lifestyles.

This paper examines the impact of increasing weather extremes due to climate change on African food systems. The specific focus lies on agroforestry adaptation measures that can be applied by smallholder farmers to protect their livelihoods and to make their food production more resilient against the effects of those weather extremes. The adoption potentials for agroforestry is evaluated, taking into consideration regional environmental and socio-economic differences, and possible barriers for adoption with respect to extrinsic and intrinsic factors are outlined. According to the indicators that approximate extrinsic factors, a high adoption potential for agroforestry is likely to be found in Angola, Botswana, Cameroon, Cabo Verde, Gabon, Ghana, Mauritania and Senegal. A very low potential exists in Somalia, Eritrea, South Sudan and Rwanda.

INTRODUCTION This paper analysis the potentials for a transition towards circular waste management in the province of Utrecht, the Netherlands, and proposes a transition agenda to facilitate the transition. We specifically focus on the potentials for small & medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for several reasons. Firstly, little research has been done on the contribution potential of SMEs to a circular economy. Secondly, a recent survey amongst 300 Western European SMEs found that 50% were not familiar with the concept of a circular economy and that a quarter does not understand the concept . Thirdly, given the large number of SMEs in the province of Utrecht (X in year Y), this paper hopes to make a contribution towards new business models and concepts within this important group of actors. Our paper is structured as follows. In Section [utrecht-province] we briefly highlight the current state of waste management practices and economic developments in the province of Utrecht, followed by a short theoretical review on the circular economy in Section [circular-economy]. In Section [methods] we introduce our methodological approach, which is used in Section [transition-agenda] to develop a transition agenda that can be used by regional policy-makers, companies and other interested actor groups to faciliate the transition to more circular waste management in the province of Utrecht. 1.
