Here we present two cases in older adult patients with highly destructive changes in ankle joints (Larsen Grade IV) and who underwent retrograde intramedullary nail fixation with fins. In both patients, bony union was achieved, full weight-bearing was attained 3 months after surgery and good functional outcome was acquired.

A 56-year-old female with pulmonary Mycobacterium avium complex disease started to inhale of liposomal amikacin. One month later, she developed hoarseness and was diagnosed with laryngitis. The laryngitis healed immediately after discontinuing the treatment, and no recurrence occurred even after resuming intermittent inhalation.

The sacroiliac joint is rarely affected by tuberculosis. Only few cases have been reported. Consequently, the diagnosis is often delayed. This case report highlights the importance of continued awareness for early detection and treatment of a tuberculous sacroiliac joint infection.

We report a case of a 34-year-old female with low-grade dyspnea on exertion despite markedly dilated left atrium (LA) on chest radiography which clouded our interpretation of the cause of enlarged cardiac silhouette.
