We report a 47-year-old man who presented with right-sided heart failure. Transthoracic echocardiography revealed a tunnel-shaped communication (ventricular septal defect) between the left ventricle and the right ventricle with a significant left-to-right shunt. The VSD is connected to the lateral wall of the right ventricle by a large tunnel.

A 69-year-old man was diagnosed with fulminant myocarditis with circulatory collapse. His cardiac rhythm deteriorated to asystole on the second day; however circulatory status was maintained through extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and intra-aortic balloon pumping. After 38h-lasting asystole, heart resumed beating. He was discharged without neurological deficits on day 25.

Primary Ewing’s sarcoma (EWS) of non-sacral spine is extremely rare, especially in middle-age. Therapeutic strategy aims: to large tumor resection, to provide spine stability and to avoid recurrence through chemo and radiotherapy. We report a case of thoracic spine EWS in an adult treated by combined approach en bloc vertebrectomy.

We described a 17-year-old male with a large pulmonary hydatid cyst with a spontaneous rupture. He developed acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) requiring mechanical ventilation. He was treated with albendazole, broad-spectrum antibiotics, and corticosteroids. He underwent surgery after discharge. ARDS after rupture of hydatid cyst was rarely reported.

A 34-year-old woman with breast cancer and the BRCA2: p.Gln3047Ter was treated with olaparib. After tumor progression, cancer genomic profiling testing revealed the BRCA2 p.Gln3047Ter and p.Gln3047Tyr, with 48.9% and 0.37% allele frequency, respectively. These findings shed light on reversion mutation as a resistance mechanism to olaparib in breast cancer.

Cardiac hydatidosis is a relatively rare complication of echinococcosis, with a potentially life-threatening condition. Here, we reported a large interventricular septal hydatid cyst with bulging in the left ventricle accompanied by a huge cervical lamp with recurrent hepatic cysts that underwent cardiac surgery to excise the cyst uneventfully.

We describe the case of a Jehovah's witness patient undergoing pelvic exenteration for recurrent endometrial carcinoma, focusing on the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative measures that allowed uncomplicated surgeries. Funduscopic examination revealed bilateral optic disc swelling and two yellowish elevated choroidal lesions in the LE. Ophthalmic imaging raised suspicion of choroidal metastasis. Adenocarcinoma of the lung was detected in further systemic evaluation.

Brucellosis is a thousand-face disease and a common zoonotic infection in the endemic region. A 42-year-old female was admitted with sternoclavicular arthritis and breast abscess. After laboratory investigation and imaging, positive serological test results and positive blood culture for brucella revealed acute sternoclavicular arthritis and breast abscess due to brucellosis.

Granular parakeratosis is an acquired keratinization disease. We describe the unusual presentation of granular parakeratosis. A 27-year-old healthy female presented with multiple erythematous and brown discoloration plaques on the dorsal aspect of her hands for eight months. Repeated washing, using detergents, and maceration of the skin could develop her lesion.

Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is transmitted via the fecal-oral route and can cause chronic infection in immunocompromised individuals. A 23-year-old man with no medical history visited our hospital after testing HEV positive during blood donation. Although he did not develop acute hepatitis, HEV IgA remained positive for over eight months.
