We study the connected components of the stochastic geometry model on Poisson points which is obtained by connecting points with a probability that depends on their relative position. Equivalently, we investigate the random clusters of the ran- dom connection model defined on the points of a Poisson process in d-dimensional space where the links are added with a particular probability function. We use the thermodynamicrelationsbetweenfreeenergy,entropyandinternalenergytofindthe functions of the cluster size distribution in the statistical mechanics of extensive and non-extensive. By comparing these obtained functions with the probability function predicted by Penrose, we provide a suitable approximate probability function. More- over, we relate this stochastic geometry model to the physics literature by showing how the fluctuations of the thermodynamic quantities of this model correspond to other models when a phase transition (10.1002/mma.6965, 2020) occurs. Also, we obtain the critical point using a new analytical method.

We consider the nonlinear massless wave equation belonging to some family of the Friedmann–Lemaître–Robertson–Walker (FLRW) spacetime. We prove the global in time small data solutions for supercritical powers in the case of decelerating expansion universe.

This paper deals with a class of fractional Schr\”{o}dinger-Poisson system \[\begin{cases}\displaystyle (-\Delta )^{s}u+V(x)u-K(x)\phi |u|^{2^*_s-3}u=a (x)f(u), &x \in \R^{3}\\ (-\Delta )^{s}\phi=K(x)|u|^{2^*_s-1}, &x \in \R^{3}\end{cases} \]with a critical nonlocal term and multiple competing potentials, which may decay and vanish at infinity, where $s \in (\frac{3}{4},1)$, $ 2^*_s = \frac{6}{3-2s}$ is the fractional critical exponent. The problem is set on the whole space and compactness issues have to be tackled. By employing the mountain pass theorem, concentration-compactness principle and approximation method, the existence of a positive ground state solution is obtained under appropriate assumptions imposed on $V, K, a$ and $f$.

In this paper, we establish a new phytoplankton-zooplankton model by considering the effects of plankton body size and stochastic environmental fluctuations. Mathematical theory work mainly gives the existence of boundary and positive equilibria, and shows their local as well as global stability in the deterministic model. Additionally, we explore the dynamics of V-geometric ergodicity, stochastic ultimate boundedness, stochastic permanence, persistence in the mean, stochastic extinction and the existence of a unique ergodic stationary distribution in the corresponding stochastic version. Numerical simulation work mainly reveals that plankton body size can generate great influences on the interactions between phytoplankton and zooplankton, which in turn proves the effectiveness of mathematical theory analysis. It is worth emphasizing that for the small value of phytoplankton cell size, the increase of zooplankton body size can not change the phytoplankton density or zooplankton density; for the middle value of phytoplankton cell size, the increase of zooplankton body size can decrease zooplankton density or phytoplankton density; for the large value of phytoplankton body size, the increase of zooplankton body size can increase zooplankton density but decrease phytoplankton density. Besides, it should be noted that the increase of zooplankton body size can not affect the effect of random environmental disturbance, while the increase of phytoplankton cell size can weaken its effect. There results may enrich the dynamics of phytoplankton-zooplankton models.

In this paper, we consider the stabilization of the generalized Rao-Nakra beam equation, which consists of four wave equations for the longitudinal displacements and the shear angle of the top and bottom layers and one Euler-Bernoulli beam equation for the transversal displacement. Dissipative mechanism are provided through viscous damping for two displacements. The location of the viscous damping are divided into two groups, characterized by whether both of the top and bottom layers are directly damped or otherwise. Each group consists of three cases. We obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for the cases in group two to be strongly stable. Furthermore, polynomial stability of certain orders are proved. The cases in group one are left for future study.

In this article, we study the global well-posedness and large-time behaviors of solutions to the two-dimensional tropical climate system with zero thermal diffusion for a small initial data in the whole space. The main approaches include high and low frequency decomposition method and exploiting the structure of system (1) to obtain the estimates of thermal dissipation. We utilize the time decay properties of the kernels to a linear differential equation to obtain the decay rates of solutions of the low frequency part and the decay property of exponential operator for the high frequency part. The key ingredient here is the explicit large-time decay rate of solutions.

We are concerned with the global existence and decay rates of large solutions for the Poisson--Nernst--Planck equations. Based on careful observation of algebraic structure of the equations and using the weighted Chemin--Lerner type norm, we obtain the global existence and optimal decay rates of large solutions without requiring the summation of initial densities of a negatively and positively charged species is small enough. Moreover, the large solution is obtained for initial data belonging to the low regularity Besov spaces with different regularity and integral indices for the different charged species, which indicates more specific coupling relations between the negatively and positively charged species.

Many problems in computer vision today are solved via deep learning. Tasks like pose estimation from images, pose estimation from point clouds or structure from motion can all be formulated as a regression on rotations. However, there is no unique way of parametrizing rotations mathematically: matrices, quaternions, axis-angle representation or Euler angles are all commonly used in the field. Some of them, however, present intrinsic limitations, including discontinuities, gimbal lock or antipodal symmetry. These limitations may make the learning of rotations via neural networks a challenging problem, potentially introducing large errors. Following recent literature, we propose three case studies: a sanity check, a pose estimation from 3D point clouds and an inverse kinematic problem. We do so by employing a full geometric algebra (GA) description of rotations. We compare the GA formulation with a 6D continuous representation previously presented in the literature in terms of regression error and reconstruction accuracy. We empirically demonstrate that parametrizing rotations as bivectors outperforms the 6D representation. The GA approach overcomes the continuity issue of representations as the 6D representation does, but it also needs fewer parameters to be learned and offers an enhanced robustness to noise. GA hence provides a broader framework for describing rotations in a simple and compact way that is suitable for regression tasks via deep learning, showing high regression accuracy and good generalizability in realistic high-noise scenarios.

n this work, we investigate the poroelastic waves by solving the time-domain Biot-JKD equation with an efficient numerical method. The viscous dissipation occurring in the pores depends on the square root of the frequency and is described by the Johnson-Koplik-Dashen (JKD) dynamic tortuosity/permeability model. The temporal convolutions of order 1/2 shifted fractional derivatives are involved in the time-domain Biot-JKD model, causing the problem to be stiff and challenging to be implemented numerically. Based on the best relative approximation of the square-root function, we design an efficient algorithm to approximate and localize the convolution kernel by introducing a finite number of auxiliary variables that satisfy a local system of ordinary differential equations. The imperfect hydraulic contact condition is used to describe the interface boundary conditions and the Runge-Kutta discontinuous Galerkin (RKDG) method together with the splitting method is applied to compute the numerical solutions. Several numerical examples are presented to show the accuracy and efficiency of our approach.

We will study binocular vision for 6-DOF robotic manipulator in conformal geometric algebra approach. We will focus on the case where some information as relative cameras positions, has been lost. In particular, we will use the construction of the manipulator to infer a self calibration method for cameras position based in binocular vision with incomplete information.

We consider the discrete Schr\”odinger operator $H=-\Delta+V$ with a sparse potential $V$ and find conditions guaranteeing either existence of wave operators for the pair $H$ and $H_0=-\Delta$, or presence of dense purely point spectrum of the operator $H$ on some interval $[\lambda_0,0]$ with $\lambda_0<0$.

This investigation is concerned with the 2D acoustic scattering problem of a plane wave propagating in a non-lossy, isotropic, homogeneous fluid host and soliciting a linear, isotropic, macroscopically-homogeneous, generally-lossy, flat-plane layer in which the mass density and wavespeed are different from those of the host. The focus is on the inverse problem of the retrieval of the layer mass density. The data is the transmitted pressure field, obtained by simulation (resolution of the forward problem) in exact, explicit form via the domain integral form of the Bergman wave equation. This solution is exact and more explicit in terms of the mass-density contrast (between the host and layer) than the classical solution obtained by separation of variables. A perturbation technique enables the solution (in its form obtained by the domain integral method) to be cast as a series of powers of the mass density contrast, the first three terms of which are employed as the trial models in the treatment of the inverse problem. The aptitude of these models to retrieve the mass density contrast is demonstrated both theoretically and numerically.

The solutions of weakly singular fractional integro-differential equations involving the Caputo derivative have singularity at the lower bound of the domain of integration. In this paper, we design an algorithm to prevail on this non-smooth behaviour of solutions of the nonlinear fractional integro-differential equations with a weakly singular kernel. The convergence of the proposed method is investigated. The proposed scheme is employed to solve four numerical examples in order to test its efficiency and accuracy.

When a real-life problem is mathematically modeled by differential equations or another type of equation, there are always intrinsic phenomena that are not taken into account and can affect the behavior of such a model. For example, external forces can abruptly change the model; impulses and delay can cause a breakdown of it. Considering these intrinsic phenomena in the mathematical model makes the difference between a simple differential equation and a differential equation with impulses, delay, and nonlocal conditions. So, in this work, we consider a semilinear nonautonomous neutral differential equation under the influence of impulses, delay, and nonlocal conditions. In this paper we study the controllability of these semilinear neutral differential equations with some of these intrinsic phenomena taking into consideration. Our aim is to prove that the controllability of the associated ordinary linear differential equation is preserved under certain conditions imposed on these new disturbances. In order to achieve our objective, we apply Rothe’s fixed point Theorem to prove the exact controllability of the system. Finally, our method can be extended to the evolution equation in Hilbert spaces with applications to control systems governed by PDE’s equations.

In this paper we study the null controllability for the problems associated to the operators y_t-Ay - \lambda/b(x) y+\int_0^1 K(t,x,\tau)y(t, \tau) d\tau, (t,x) \in (0,T)\times (0,1) where Ay := ay_{xx} or Ay := (ay_x)_x and the functions a and b degenerate at an interior point x0 Ë .0; 1/. To this aim, as a first step we study the well posedness, the Carleman estimates and the null controllability for the associated nonhomogeneous degenerate and singular heat equations. Then,using the Kakutani’s fixed point Theorem, we deduce the null controllability property for the initial nonlocal problems.

In the present paper, we study a class of quasilinear Choquard equations involving N-Laplacian and the nonlinearity with the critical exponential growth. We discuss the existence of positive solutions of such equations.

The purpose of this work is to investigate perfect reconstruction underlying range space of operators in finite dimensional Hilbert spaces by a new matrix method. To this end, first we obtain more structures of the canonical $K$-dual. % and survey optimal $K$-dual problem under probabilistic erasures. Then, we survey the problem of recovering and robustness of signals when the erasure set satisfies the minimal redundancy condition or the $K$-frame is maximal robust. Furthermore, we show that the error rate is reduced under erasures if the $K$-frame is of uniform excess. Toward the protection of encoding frame (K-dual) against erasures, we introduce a new concept so called $(r,k)$-matrix to recover lost data and solve the perfect recovery problem via matrix equations. Moreover, we discuss the existence of such matrices by using minimal redundancy condition on decoding frames for operators. We exhibit several examples that illustrate the advantage of using the new matrix method with respect to the previous approaches in existence construction. And finally, we provide the numerical results to confirm the main results in the case noise-free and test sensitivity of the method with respect to noise.
