Objective: This article seeks to review current federal and New Jersey state policy to address period poverty in menstruating females. Design: Federal and state policy review. Results: There is no existing federal policy to address access to period products in federal buildings. Multiple bills reviewed are pending legislation. NJ passed state policy for schools’ grades six -12 to provide free access to period products in some bathroom facilities. Conclusion: Comprehensive menstrual equity laws at both state and federal levels are needed to ensure access to menstrual care products. Policies need to address the availability of products, eliminate taxation of menstrual care products, include education and implementation plans.
