IntroductionDermoid cysts are benign ectodermal tumors that can develop anywhere in the body. However, their occurrence in the oral cavity is rare.1 Typically, dermoid cysts on the floor of the oral cavity have no symptoms, show slow and progressive growth, and are often not diagnosed until adulthood.2 Despite their benign nature, oral dermoid cysts can interfere with essential functions such as speech, swallowing, and feeding, particularly in infants or young children.3,4 In this population, even small lesions may cause feeding difficulties, weight loss, and potential developmental delays due to the limited space within the oral cavity. Therefore, early recognition and appropriate surgical intervention are critical to prevent long-term complications. In this report, we describe a case of a dermoid cyst in an infant who presented to our clinic with poor oral intake and had a mass on the floor of the oral cavity.
