Sinus of Valsalva Aneurysm (SVA) is a rare congenital anomaly, and its
rupture can lead to acute heart failure and hemodynamic instability. We
present a case of a 32-year-old male who developed acute dyspnea and
chest pain following a coughing episode. Echocardiography revealed a
left-to-right shunt, and computed tomography angiography (CTA) confirmed
a 17 mm rupture at the right sinus of Valsalva, forming an aorto-right
ventricular outflow tract fistula. The patient underwent urgent surgical
repair, with successful defect closure and no residual shunting
postoperatively. This case highlights the role of CTA in diagnosis and
the necessity of early surgical intervention.
