Dr. Ernesto Figueiro-Filho graduated in Medicine FAMED-UFMS (Faculty of Medicine-UFMS), Brazil (1997), with Masters in Obstetrics from University of Sao Paulo (USP) - Brazil (2002) and Ph.D. in Obstetrics from USP - Brazil (2003). He is Board Certified in Gynecology & Obstetrics (2000), Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology (2002) and Maternal Fetal Medicine (2004) – Brazilian Medical Association and Brazilian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Brazil.
He also completed a Medical Education Fellowship (2010-2014) - Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research -FAIMER, Brazil.
After moving to Canada, Dr. Figueiro accomplished a Post-Doctoral Fellowship (2015-2017) at Queen’s University, Kingston-ON. Research on Effects of Pre-Eclampsia on Fetal Brain. Dr Figueiro also completed a series of clinical fellowships in Canada: Clinical Fellowship in Perinatology (2017-2018), Advanced Obstetrics (2018-2019), Maternal Fetal Medicine (2019-2021) at Mount Sinai Hospital, University of Toronto, Toronto-ON. He is a Sub-specialist Affiliate in Maternal Fetal Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (SEAP-RCPSC).
Currently Dr. Figueiro is a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist (2021-current) in Regina.
