Dr. Wondwossen is an associate professor of Surgery who is a highly committed general surgeon with subspecialty training in endocrine and breast surgery. Currently serving as the Dean of the School of Medicine at Yekatit 12 Hospital Medical College in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Dr. Wondwossen is known for his dual focus on surgical excellence and academic leadership.
He began his medical career with a specialization in general surgery from Wollo University and later pursued advanced subspecialty training in endocrine and breast surgery at SGPGIMS, Lucknow, India—a premier institution in the region. He holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) and a Master’s in Healthcare Quality, bringing a valuable interdisciplinary perspective to surgical care and systems-based improvement.
Dr. Wondwossen completed his doctoral degree in Medicine at Jimma University, focusing on patient care, further strengthening his academic portfolio. His past role as Head of the Department of Surgery reflects his dedication to clinical education, team development, and patient-centered care.
