Student
I am a fourth year undergraduate studying Marine Science in Boston University's Marine Program (BUMP). I completed the BUMP Marine Semester in Fall 2023 where I worked on remote sensing in the Gulf of Maine and seagrass ecology in Belize. I am most interested in ecology and biogeochemistry in coastal and open ocean systems, and a am actively seeking PhD opportunities in marine ecology and biogeochemistry beginning in fall 2025. This summer, I was a SURFO fellow (NSF-REU) at the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography with Dr. Hongjie Wang, where I studied the impact of oyster aquaculture on local carbonate chemistry in Narragansett Bay. I am a researcher in Robinson W. (Wally) Fulweiler's lab at Boston University, where I am working on my honors thesis. Prior to that, I was a molecular lab TA for the Microbial Diversity course in addition to volunteering in the cephalopod mariculture lab at the Marine Biological Laboratory. Additionally, I spent one year as a Research Assistant at Harvard University in Colleen Cavanaugh's lab under the sponsorship of Virginia Edgcomb at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution as a Guest Student. Before college, I spent 4 summers as a teaching assistant and then a lead teaching assistant after being a student for 8 years at the Children's School of Science (Woods Hole, MA), where my love for science and the ocean was born. I plan to return as a teacher following the completion of my degree.
