Dr. Tamil Bharathan serves as an Assistant Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM), Andaman & Nicobar Islands. He was appointed to this position through the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) as a Group "A" Gazetted.
He earned his Ph.D. from the Special Centre for Tamil Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. His doctoral research, titled "A Comparative Study of Tolkāppiyam and Aristotelicum", explores key intersections between Classical Tamil and Ancient Greek.
He has made significant contributions to the fields of translation and comparative literature. He has presented various research papers on the comparative analysis of Tolkāppiyam and Corpus Aristotelicum. His academic engagements also include translation work for NCERT and NPTEL.
He has edited five books and is the author of My Sri Lankan Visit 2.0, a travelogue. Most recently, he published Conceptual Tamil Translation of Aristotle's Physics, further bridging classical knowledge systems through linguistic scholarship.
An accomplished orator and emerging writer in Tamil, Dr. Tamil Bharathan was awarded Second Runner-up in the International Tamil Elocution Competition held in Colombo, Sri Lanka (2017), representing India. His short story, "In Our Kitchen…", won a prize of ₹1,00,000 in the Sangam Poetry Short Story Competition organised by Kumudam magazine
