Percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) is an increasingly important procedure in orthopaedics. Bone cement leakage after PVP is a widely described complication, which is very rare and serious when it causes cardiac involvement. A 73-year-old man who underwent PVP forĀ a lumbar fracture developed chest tightness and shortness of breath 8 months after surgery, and had a sudden syncope one year after surgery. Imaging examination suggested a strip of foreign body in the right atrium and the right ventricle. The patient underwent emergency open heart surgery. The surgery was successful and the 9cm bone cement foreign body was completely removed.
