Traumatic aortic rupture is a rupture of all or part of the aortic wall, commonly reported in blunt chest trauma cases. The most common site of rupture is the aortic isthmus. Aortic floating thrombus (AFT) is a rare, life-threatening disease with debated mechanisms. The therapeutic strategy is still controversial, but conservative management is the preferred treatment. We report a rare case of an acute post-traumatic AFT.
