Onosma kuhsallanensis (Sect. Onosma, Subsect. Asterotricha (Boiss.) Gürke) is described as new endemic species from Iran. Morphological data and molecular analysis based on the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region of nrDNA, was carried out. The morphological study reveals that Onosma kuhsallanensis can be similar to O. safai-fari, but its distinguished by the shape of sterile shoot leaves; shorter fruiting calyx; broad calyx lobes; corolla color, shorter corolla and the position of filaments arising from the corolla. Additionally, this study presents a distribution map, images of the holotype specimens, diagnostic characters, detailed photographs, and an identification key.

a new species, Fritillaria pavehensis from Kermanshah province in western Iran was described in the present study. F. pavehensis is similar to F. crassifolia, F. kurdica and F. hakkarensis in F. crassifolia group in general facies but differs mainly by the shape and size of its lowest leaves and bracts, shape and colour of perigone segments. The detailed taxonomic descriptions, diagnostic characters, original photographs, geographical distributions, habitat, phenology and ecology, etymology, conservation status, and phylogenetic dendrogram of the new and the related species are presented in the present study.

Veronica kurdistanica is described and illustrated as a new species. It grows on calcareous rocks in a few sites in an alpine area in western Iran (Kurdistan province). The new species belongs to V. kurdica species group and is putatively closely related to V. daranica, with which it is com-pared. Veronica kurdistanica is distinguished from V. daranica particularly by its glandular in-dumentum. Molecular phylogenetic analysis of nrDNA (ITS) region confirms this relationship as it is assembled in a sub-clade including V. daranica, V. khorassanica and V. kurdica.

Onosma safaie-fari (in subsect. Asterotricha) is described and introduced as new species from Kurdistan province. O. safaie-fari morphological similar to O. qandilica, however, it is seperated by sterile shoot and cauline leaves shape; fruiting calyx length, calyx lobes shape and width, corolla length, corolla color and anthers length. Also Onosma safaie-fari closed to O. bisotunensis but it is differentiated by sterile shoot and cauline leaves shape, lower bract shape and length; length of fruiting calyx; corolla color and length; free part of filaments length, position of filaments arising from corolla and anthers length.

Two new species from Iran was described in this study. Fritillaria shehbazii from Western Azerbaijan province in northwest Iran and F. selenica from Kurdistan province in western Iran. F. shehbazii is similar to F. chlororhabdota, F. pinardii, F. kordestanica and F. assyriaca in the F. caucasica group in general facies but differs mainly by the color and size of its lowest leaves, shape and colour of perianth segments. F. selenica is similar to F. avromanica and F. assyriaca in general facies but differs mainly by narrower leaves and color of perianth segments. Detailed taxonomic descriptions, diagnostic characteristics, illustrations, original photographs, geographical distributions, habitat, phenology and ecology, etymology, conservation status, and identification key of the new and the related species are presented in this study.
