The purpose of this study is to develop a “Recreation Knowledge Test” with the target of testing the knowledge related to quality leisure and recreation titles, which are taught to the students under the “Recreation” course provided as mandatory or selective in all departments in Sports Sciences Faculties and Physical Education and Sports Colleges of our country except the Recreation Departments, and thus enabling the determination of the lack of knowledge among the students who take this course and providing the academicians, who teach the lecture, with the opportunity to develop a more qualified course planning. The universe of the research was set around 670 students who took the compulsory recreation course at Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University, Faculty of Sports Sciences, Department of Sports Management, between 2016-2017 and 2020-2021 academic terms. Criterion sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used to determine the sample group of the research, and a sample group was formed by enrolling 300 students. The study has the feature of descriptive research in that it reveals a current situation based on the findings obtained from the developed test. Before starting the analysis of the data, RStudio 5.4.1 (R Core Team, 2019) was used as part of data cleaning. In this direction, the “PerFit” package was used to remove ineligible individuals. In the analysis of the data, SPSS 21 and TAP 14.7.4 (Test Analysis Program) software were used. Based on the data obtained from a group of 300 people, the mean item difficulty of the RBT consisting of 25 questions was found as 0.62; mean item discrimination was found as 0.33 and KR-20 value was found as 0.69. These findings show that the developed achievement test consists of items with close to mean item difficulty level and good discrimination level, and that the test can obtain reliable results. As a result, an achievement/knowledge test was developed that can provide valid and reliable measurements that can contribute to the field of recreation concept/discipline at undergraduate level. Testing the basic recreation knowledge acquired through the recreation course is of great importance in achieving the goal of bringing recreation awareness to the individuals who make up our society.
