Clement L. Ren, MD, MBA holds the Richard B. Johnston Jr. Chair in Pediatrics and is a Professor of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine. He is a member of the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine and serves as the Cystic Fibrosis Center Director at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Ren’s research has focused on developing better methods to assess lung disease in children with cystic fibrosis (CF) and bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). The majority of this work has utilized infant/preschool pulmonary function testing, and more recently he is using lung MRI and home-reported outcomes using a phone-based application. His other area of scholarly activity has been CF epidemiology, where he has performed numerous analyses using the CF Foundation Patient Registry. In addition to advancing knowledge through research, he has helped advance care through leadership and service in the CF Foundation and American Thoracic Society.
