I received my Ph.D. in 1992 at Aberdeen University, under the guidance of the most respected supervisor D.J.F. Bowling in my life. The title of my Ph.D. dissertation is ‘Influence of the mesophyll on stomatal opening’. Since then, I have published about 50 papers over the past 28 years, two books have been co-authored, and I have written two books alone. One of the textbooks is ‘Lee JS (1999) Advanced Life Science', Hangilsa Publishing Com, Seoul'. The representative paper of about 50 papers was the first published ‘Lee JS, Bowling DJF (1992) Effect of the mesophyll on stomatal opening in Commelina communis. J Exp Bot 43: 951-957 and last year's 'Lee JS (2019) The sustainable reasons of controversy over the mechanisms for the stomatal opening. J Plant Biol 62: 254-262’.
