Conclusions
In conclusion, the results of this study provide preliminary data about
the factors affecting medication adherence among HIV Jordanian patients
and their level of awareness and perception toward pharmaceutical care.
From the collected results we noticed that adherence to the treatment of
HIV is not constant and mono-dimensional but is a function of different
factors. Hence, the infected individual may show feeble adherence in a
specific time and under specific circumstances having desirable
adherence under a different circumstance. Thus, the treatment of people
living with HIV needs psychological supports in addition to ART therapy.
Nevertheless, there is still a need to develop educational programs and
implement proper counseling in order to improve Jordanian pharmacist
awareness about HIV disease and treatment options.
