Abstract

Skin wound caused by burns, disease, etc., is a substantial healthcare issue, it may result in infection and chronic state, long-term incidence and even death. A highly effective and viable therapy involved in wound healing, this will present the more significant exploration. Marine bioactive peptides are currently being utilized due to their beneficial biological properties, which encompass anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-aging, antitumor activities, and antihypertensive. These peptides offer advantages such as high activity, high safety, clear specificity of the target and low allergenicity. Notably, marine bioactive peptides have been scientifically proven to facilitate wound tissue repair and demonstrate strong potential in the field of skin healing. Thus they have existed a great potential for use in wound healing. We gather and discuss the current knowledge in the wound care field, and analyze underlying mechanisms, to deeper explore characteristics of marine bioactive peptides and to better provide a molecular information for the development of new drugs in wound healing and skin repair.
