Rationale, aims and objectives. Hospitals are at the frontline of the
COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to infection control measures, effective
administrative strategies are equally important. We aimed to present
administrative measures implemented in a large community hospital in
Taiwan. Methods. The strategies employed included regular administrative
meetings, entrance control, outdoor fever screen station, ward control,
proactive inpatient and outpatient case identification, outdoor walk
through dispensary, resource relocation and supplies distribution,
guidelines, telemedicine, and group quarantine. Results. After one year
of effort, nosocomial infection in a large community hospital of over
7,000 staffs remained zero. Conclusion. In face of the re-emergence of
COVID-19 pandemic, by sharing our experiences we may contribute to the
global community.
